Fees

OUR FEES

We believe that our fees are very competitive, which is why we are happy to set them out in full below.
Our fees are based on the amount of time spent working on the project using the following hourly rate:
 £235 +  VAT per hour
Please note that we do not charge for everything we do and there are some important points to bear in mind which are listed below.
  • We do not charge for calls with clients. Not only does this represent a great cost saving in transactional matters but it also promotes collaboration. We want the best possible information flow with you to maximise the value we can provide to you.
  • We automatically apply volume discounts. If in any financial year your aggregate net spend exceeds certain thresholds, then the hourly rate will automatically be reduced for the remainder of the financial year. Currently, if your net spend exceeds £14,000 then the hourly rate reduces to £200 + VAT, and if your net spend exceeds £25,000 then the hourly rate reduces to £170 + VAT.
  • We cap our fees for initial work. When you ask us to help out, whether to provide advice, draft a contract or maybe review responses from a counterparty, we will look at the scope of the work and provide a capped quote. Not an estimate. Not a fixed price but a cap. This means that if the work takes longer than the cap then you don't have to pay anything extra, but if the work takes us less time then you get the full cost saving. As a fair use practice we do set a minimum cap at 2 hours but we still pass all of the cost saving on to you where the work takes less than 2 hours.
  • No rounding up. We don't follow the practice of rounding up to the nearest 6 minutes. We only charge you for the minutes we have actually worked for you.
  • Full transparency. At the end of the month, we will send you a full, itemised breakdown of fees so that you can see exactly what work we did, how long it took, whether the work was chargeable or not and whether any volume discounts apply. When it comes to fees, we like to err on the side of too much information.
  • Expertise. All of the work is undertaken by the principal Adam Haines. Adam is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales with a masters degree in technology and telecommunications law from London University and 27 years of post qualification experience, including 7 years as associate in the technology and telecoms teams of leading city law firms.
  •  Billing. We invoice monthly in arrears with 60 day payment terms. We do not require payment on account.
